Friday 21 – Monday 24 October, 2005
Venue: The House
Time: 8pm

The Hedda Gabler Project was created in 2004 and first performed in January, 2005.

Following an extremely enthusiastic reception, we’re delighted to be performing it again. Dealing with the inner demons and destructive passions of a socially and sexually repressive society, Hedda Gabler caused scandal, shock and loathing when first performed in England. Like much of Ibsen’s work, however, it has subsequently been neutralized by old-fashioned productions methods that have scarcely changed over more than a century.

in situ:‘s performance aims to put the shock, disturbance and complexity back into Ibsen’s masterpiece through the innovative performance practices the group has been developing since its creation in 2000.
