The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer

Chaucer’s famous cycle of stories – ‘rude, funny, romantic, sexual, magical and unforgettably brilliant.’

in situ:‘s walkaround production, revived at Cambridge’s Leper Chapel in 2013 after sell-out performances in 2005 and 2006 takes place inside, outside and all around the historic Old Church at Preston Park, Brighton.

Outside: stories from rude Reeves, risque Merchants, romantic Knights, creepy Pardoners and just plain dirty Millers.

Inside: eerie recitations in original Middle English, chants and vocalisations; alchemy; scholarship.

The mysterious inner workings of the medieval psyche.
